About Mary English

Hailing from Charlotte, North Carolina, the BMI represented artist has released a collection of over 20 original songs. She has co-written with songwriters in Nashville including Jeff Cohen (The Band Perry), Pete Sallis (Maddie & Tae), Zach Abend (Dylan Marlowe) and Elliot James (Hey Monday.) Her music has been featured on Apple Music, J-14, TopShop, and MTV. One of her latest releases, “Summer Night,” has garnered over 200,000 streams on Spotify. 

Growing up, Mary English began singing, dancing and acting at five years old and had written and released her first single by 14. She pursued pre-professional ballet at Charlotte Ballet Company, which led her to attend summer intensives at both Gelsey Kirkland Academy (New York City) and Chautauqua Institution (New York.) On a gap year in LA, Mary English continued her songwriting and vocals, along with acting. She was training at the Upright Citizens Brigade by day, and attended Millennium Dance classes by night. 

While attending the University of South Carolina, she attained both a bachelors and masters degree in Marketing and Sport & Entertainment management. While she was there, she fronted her own band and traveled around the Carolinas to showcase her passion for music including Breakers Live, Tin Roof, Amos Southend and many more. She recently performed at the Carolina Country Music Festival in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in 2024. 

After serving on the Public Relations team for the Carolina Panthers, she is pursuing her career in Country Music.
